Zoltek Companies, Inc. of St Louis, Missouri unveiled a modern line of unidirectional, stitch-bonded fabrics at the 2002 JEC Composites point out - the first lightweight, high-performance fabrics made from its commercial (large-tow) carbon fibers.

The just discovered line of fabrics, made from Zoltek's proprietary Panex(tm) 35 fibers with higher tensile modulus, are well suited for standard fabrication technologies and processe including resin transfer molding, infusion molding, hand layup, and prepreg production.

Another exhibitor at the JEC point out which is using the Zoltek-made fabric in the
